During his 'Mann Ki Baat' address, the Prime Minister lauded the cricketer, stating, "After a wait of seven decades, the Jammu & Kashmir team has secured its first Ranji Trophy victory. Aquib Nabi's performance—having taken 60 wickets this season—is currently the talk of the nation. Inspired by his success, many more individuals from the region are bound to enter the world of sports in the days to come." Meanwhile, during the IPL auction, the Delhi Capitals franchise acquired Aquib Nabi for a sum of ₹8.4 crore.
