Raina's 18-Year Record Broken!
Although Chennai suffered a defeat in their clash against Punjab, the performance of the team's young batter, Ayush Matre, is drawing widespread praise. By scoring 73 runs off just 43 balls—thereby contributing a substantial total to the team—Matre broke a record previously held by Raina at Chepauk. At the age of 18 years and 261 days, Matre has become the youngest player to score a half-century at Chennai's home ground. Prior to this, in 2008, Raina (then aged 21 years and 148 days) had scored a half-century against MI.
