Rally in ‘Blue-chip’ Stocks
Indian stock market benchmark indices recorded significant gains on Friday. The Sensex surged 964.58 points (1.25 percent) to reach 78,151.45. The Nifty closed at 24,334.30, marking a gain of 261.55 points (1.09 percent). This rally was driven by robust buying from investors in shares of market giant Reliance Industries and major companies (blue-chips) in the banking and IT sectors. Out of the 30 companies listed on the Sensex, 24 performed well.
