Sindhu’s Triumph
Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu has clinched a title after a long hiatus. The ace player from the Telugu states emerged victorious in the Japan Open Super 750 series. In the final held on Sunday, Sindhu stunned World No. 3 Akane Yamaguchi (Japan) with a 21-17, 21-17 victory, becoming the first Indian shuttler to win this title. Moreover, this win serves as a fitting reply to critics who had written her off—claiming her career was over—after she had failed to win a single title since the Syed Modi International in December 2024.
