Teachers Designated as ‘Surplus’ in Absence of Students
Amaravati: The School Education Department clarified on Thursday that if a school has no students, the teachers working there should be designated as surplus and redeployed. It explained that if an SGT (Secondary Grade Teacher) and an MTS (Language Teacher) are working in the same school and one must be declared surplus, the MTS teacher would be the one designated as such. Regarding upper primary schools where both English and Mathematics teachers are employed, the department clarified that if one needs to be declared surplus, the Mathematics teacher should be designated as surplus.
