Tragic accident in Malakand district, 15 members of nomadic family killed
Pakistan Road Accident: A tragic accident occurred in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. At least 15 people from the same family were killed when a truck overturned near a tunnel on Thursday. Eight others were also injured in the accident, rescue officials said.
Accident in Malakand District
A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 emergency services stated that the accident occurred on the Swat Motorway in Malakand District. All the victims belonged to a nomadic family from the Jibral area of Swat's Bahrain Tehsil, who frequently migrated to different areas seasonally. Upon receiving information about the accident, rescue services and police arrived at the scene and rushed everyone to the district headquarters hospital, Batkhela.
The deceased included women and children.
Medics at the hospital declared 15 people dead, while eight others received emergency medical treatment. Four seriously injured people were later transported to Swat for specialized care. According to rescue sources, the dead and injured include men, women, and children.
Previous Accidents
Pakistan also witnessed a tragic road accident in July of this year. At least nine people were killed and more than 30 injured in the bus accident. The bus was traveling from Islamabad to Lahore. It fell into a ditch near Balkasar in Chakwal district of Punjab province. More than 40 passengers were on board. The accident occurred due to a tire burst.
Why Accidents Happen in Pakistan
Before July, a tragic accident also occurred in Pakistan's Punjab province in April of this year. Eleven people, including women and children, were killed in the accident. Poor roads, lack of safety awareness, and disregard for traffic rules often lead to fatal accidents in Pakistan.
