US tariffs on India will fail, Putin warns
Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the US that providing Ukraine with long-range missiles will not change the situation on the battlefield but will seriously impact relations between Moscow and Washington. He said the Russian military is gradually and steadily gaining ground. Speaking at a forum of international foreign policy experts in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Putin said the potential supply of US Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv would signal a "new level of confrontation, including in relations between Russia and the US."
Putin said that even if Tomahawk missiles are delivered to Ukraine, they would cause damage to Russia, but Russian air defense systems would quickly counter the new threat. "It certainly will not change the balance of power on the battlefield," he said, adding that the Russian military is steadily gaining ground against Ukraine.
Putin's response to being called a "paper tiger"
When asked about US President Donald Trump's description of Russia as a "paper tiger" because it cannot defeat Ukraine despite more than three years of war, Putin argued that Russia faces not just Ukraine, but the entire NATO alliance. Putin also praised the summit with Trump in Alaska and reiterated his proposal to extend the nuclear treaty. He said, "It was good that we tried to find and explore possible ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis."
He called Trump's tariffs a wrong move. Putin said that high tariffs on countries trading with Russia would increase global prices and force the US Federal Reserve to keep interest rates high, slowing US economic growth.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said, "US tariffs against India will fail. Unlike Europe, India and China are countries that respect themselves. India will never allow itself to be humiliated." Putin further emphasized that Russia aims to maintain positive economic growth despite Western sanctions.
