V. Hanumantha Rao Begins Hunger Strike Today
Demanding the inclusion of a Backward Classes (BC) caste census as part of the general Census, State Government Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao is set to commence an indefinite hunger strike starting Saturday. He will begin his protest at 10:30 AM at his residence in Amberpet, Hyderabad. In a statement issued on Friday, he revealed that he had written multiple letters to Prime Minister Modi arguing that a count of the BC population is essential to ensure justice for BCs based on their demographic strength; he stated that he was compelled to undertake this hunger strike due to the lack of any response from the Prime Minister.
