6-Month Jail Sentence for Byju Raveendran
New Delhi: A Singapore court has sentenced Raveendran, the founder of the prominent EdTech firm Byju's—which is currently mired in debt—to a six-month jail term. The court handed down the prison sentence on charges of contempt of court. However, Raveendran stated that the verdict was procedural in nature and that he had committed no wrongdoing. He further announced that he intends to appeal the judgment.
