BCCI Focuses on Tests: A Plan to Groom the Next Generation!
Following home Test series defeats against New Zealand and South Africa, the BCCI has shifted its focus to red-ball cricket. In June or July, the board plans to organize a red-ball intra-squad tournament featuring 64 cricketers under the age of 25 (U25). A BCCI official revealed that these players will be divided into four teams and will compete in matches held at the National Cricket Academy (Centre of Excellence) in Bengaluru. From this group, 25 players will be selected and groomed specifically for Test cricket. Reports suggest that Vaibhav and Matre are likely to be included in this shortlist.
