Bengalis Turn Out in Droves!
Kolkata: Voters in West Bengal turned out in massive numbers. In the first phase of the Assembly elections held on Thursday, a staggering 91.78% voter turnout was recorded. This marks the first time since India's independence that such a massive polling percentage has been registered in the state. Out of a total of 294 Assembly constituencies, elections were held for 152 constituencies in this first phase. Voters flocked in droves to the polling stations across 16 districts to exercise their franchise.
