Record-Breaking 85.14% Polling in Tamil Nadu
Chennai: Massive voter turnout was recorded in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The Central Election Commission (EC) announced that 85.14% of the votes were cast. It noted that, compared to the previous elections (73.63%), this year saw an increase of 11.51%. Polling, which began at 7:00 AM, concluded peacefully, barring a few sporadic incidents in isolated areas. From the very start of the day, voters—particularly women and the youth—arrived at the polling stations with great enthusiasm.
