Decision on payments stuck since 2014, big relief for small contractors
Amravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to pay up to Rs 400 crore of pending bills of contractors for works carried out since 2014. A government source informed that contractors carrying out work worth less than Rs 5 crore between 2014 and 2019 will now get paid, ending years of financial uncertainty.
Waited for a long time
The source said that the Andhra Pradesh Finance Department is paying the pending bills of the small contractors, which will give them the financial relief they have been waiting for for a long time.
The amount will be deposited in the contractor's account soon
The decision was taken after Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's order through which small contractors will be given benefits by paying pending bills of Rs 400 crore. This relief is being given specifically to those contractors who have executed works up to five lakh rupees and whose arrears have been due since 2014. The bill amount is expected to be credited to the contractors' accounts in a few days.
