Tata Nano... A Re-entry as an Electric Car?
The Tata Nano—born from Ratan Tata's vision to make the dream of owning a car a reality for the common man—appears poised for a market comeback. Ajay Jain, Head of Design at Tata Motors India, has hinted that the Tata Nano could re-enter the market as an electric vehicle. The Tata Nano, which created a sensation in the global automotive industry, was launched in 2009. Priced at ₹1 lakh, it held the distinction of being the world's cheapest car. However, due to a lack of public acceptance, the car disappeared from showrooms several years ago.
