The Grandeur of the Lord of Vaikuntha atop the Garuda Vahana
Tirumala: 'Kali Yuga Vaikuntha' (Tirumala) resonated with the chanting of the name 'Govinda.' Amidst light drizzles—as if the Rain God, Varuna, were also participating—Lord Sri Venkateswara, seated majestically upon His preferred vehicle, Garuda, blessed the devotees. The 'Garuda Utsavam' took place with great splendor on Friday night, the fifth day of the Navaratri Brahmotsavams. Adorned in exquisite attire and ornaments, Lord Malayappa Swamy was taken in a procession through the streets of Tirumala atop the Garuda Vahana, granting a divine vision (darshan) to the devotees.
