38 MP Seats for AP via Shah's Formula: Purandeswari
Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari stated that the 50 percent increase formula proposed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the delimitation of constituencies would benefit Andhra Pradesh. Conversely, if the allocation were to be based on the 2026 census, the current tally of 25 seats would face a reduction of five seats. Purandeswari demanded an apology from the opposition parties, asserting that they worked with the sole objective of ensuring the defeat of the bill aimed at providing 33 percent reservation for women in legislative bodies, thereby doing an injustice to women.
