Protect Adivasi Rights
New Delhi: Leaders of various tribal organizations have urged Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, to take measures to protect the rights of the Adivasi communities. Leaders of the Adivasi Adhikar Rashtriya Manch (AARM) and the Andhra Pradesh Adivasi Girijana Sangham (AGS) met a Union Minister in New Delhi on Sunday and submitted a memorandum. Leaders Jitendra Choudhary, Brinda Karat, B. Venkat, P. Appala Narsa, and K. Surendra urged the Minister to ensure the effective implementation of the 5th Schedule rights, reservations, and land protection laws guaranteed to Adivasis under the Constitution.
